U.S. Marshall Berger To Keynote Palm Bay Chamber Lunch

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Greater Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce will feature former Palm Bay police chief and current U.S. Marshall, William “Bill” Berger as the keynote speaker for the organization’s membership luncheon on March 5.

The luncheon will be held at the Life Care Center of Palm Bay, located at 175 Villa Nueva Avenue NE, off Malabar Road, just west of Palm Bay Hospital.

Berger will address the members and guests about the history of the U.S. Marshal Service and his role as the Marshal for the local district.

“Most business leaders don’t interface with this level of law enforcement in their lifetime,” said Vicki Northrup, President & CEO of the Greater Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce.

“To have our former chief of police return to Palm Bay to educate and inform our businesses about this important U.S. department is a topic that is welcomed.”

U.S. Marshall Bill Berger was nominated by President Barack Obama for the position of United States Marshal of the Middle District of Florida on November 11, 2010, confirmed by the U.S. Senate on December 20, 2011 and he was sworn in as a U.S. Marshal on February 9, 2011. The District is comprised of five areas including Tampa, Jacksonville, Ocala, Orlando and Ft. Myers.

The Palm Bay Police Officer of the Month will also be honored, which is sponsored by Community Credit Union.

Registration and lunch begin at 11:30am and the program starts at noon. Cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
