Body of Dead Pedestrian Found After A1A Crash

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Art Stroud of Melbourne has been found dead by a homeowner and an electrician this morning, just before 9 a.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, he was killed in Saturday’s incident that claimed the life of Nancy Chancey during a fiery rollover crash on SR A1A and Pinetree Drive in Indialantic.
Stroud, 60, was found on the east shoulder of A1A in a thick brush and treeline near the accident scene. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Stroud was walking on the east shoulder of A1A prior to being struck by Chancey, who was driving a a 2010 Dodge Charger.
The Florida Highway Patrol said that firefighters and police officers from Melbourne, FHP troopers and sheriff’s deputies searched the immediate area for any victims, and could not see Stroud due to the heavy brush and trees in the area where Stroud’s body landed.
The crash remains under investigation.

Fatal Fiery Rollover Crash In Indialantic
BREVARD COUNTY • INDIALANTIC, FLORIDA – The Florida Highway Patrol has reported a fatal accident at about 1 p.m. today on SR A1A and Pinetree Drive in Indialantic. (Map above)
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2010 Dodge Charger driven by Nancy Chancey, 59, rolled and burst into flames.
Chancey, of Indialantic, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt.
Deborah Cook, 57, of Maryland, driving a 1996 Volvo, was also involved in the crash but was uninjured, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
