Brevard Native Nate Hooks, Jr., Will Lead Tiger Football Program This Fall

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA –  Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy has announced Nate Hooks, Jr. as the Tiger’s new head varsity football coach.

Coach Hooks is a Brevard County native and a 1982 graduate of Cocoa High School. At Cocoa, he was the MVP and football team captain, and was inducted into Cocoa High School Hall of Fame.

He currently serves as the Assistant Head Coach at Titusville High School.

Coach Hooks played his college ball at Tennessee Technological University, where he was the team captain, MVP, a Robert Hill Johnson Award recipient, seventh leading scorer in school history and an All-American Honorable Mention.

He holds a Masters Degree in Human Performance Biomechanics from the University of Tennessee and a Bachelor in Human Ecology from Tennessee Technological University.

 HAS COACHED PRO FOOTBALL STARS

During his time at the University of Tennessee, he served as the assistant strength and conditioning coach for track, football and basketball – as well as the speed coach for the decathletes and sprinters.

While at Tennessee, Coach Hooks was the speed and agility coach for NFL quarterback Peyton Manning and pole vault Olympic Silver Medalist Lawrence Johnson – as well as other future NFL players quarterback Tee Martin, wide-receiver Peerless Price, running back Shawn Bryson and defensive back Terry Fair.

Additionally, Coach Hooks was the women’s head track & field coach at Florida Atlantic University from 2000 to 2002, and the assistant head track & field coach at Morehouse College from 2003 to 2013.
