Cocoa Police Arrest Cocaine Trafficking Suspect

COCOA, FLORIDA — Cocoa Police Department Officers, along with BCSO responded to Vibez Night Club located at 644 W. King Street, Cocoa, and conducted a foot patrol of the parking lot. 

According to public information officer Barbara Matthews, officers discovered a vehicle which had what appeared to be a large amount of cocaine in a shallow, open glove box, in plain view.

Officers waited until the driver of the vehicle returned and an attempt to stop the driver in the parking lot met with the driver almost striking four law enforcement officers and several civilians.

A short pursuit took place and the vehicle wrecked by striking a vehicle in the intersection at Varr and W. King St. The suspect vehicle sustained moderate damage and the other vehicle also sustained moderate to heavy damage, both vehicle air bags were deployed.

The driver of the vehicle that was hit by the suspect vehicle refused medical on scene. The driver of the suspect vehicle, Terrance Britt, with the last known address of 707 Prospect Avenue, Cocoa, was arrested and a search of the vehicle was conducted. A Kimber 1911 was discovered under the driver seat.

A trafficking amount of cocaine was recovered along with cannabis. Also placed into evidence was $1,680 which was recovered from Britt’s person. He was transported to Wuesthoff for medical clearance prior to transport to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office  jail.
