BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Agents from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and the GAMEOVER Task Force located and arrested an absconded sex predator, 46-year-old Mark Mazzo, who absconded from the Tampa area on Wednesday.

Agents from multiple law enforcement agencies in Central Florida cooperated in the investigation to locate and arrest Mazzo.

The investigation began Wednesday when Brevard County agents were contacted by Tampa Probation and Parole officers, who advised that Mazzo had cut off his electronic monitoring device in Brevard County.

Brevard County Sheriff’s Office agents then trailed Mazzo through Brevard, Flagler and Volusia Counties before locating and arresting him.

The cooperative effort to locate Mazzo included members from the Flagler and Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshal Service, Daytona Beach Police Department and the Holly Hill Police Department.

The investigation began Wednesday when Brevard County agents were contacted by Tampa Probation and Parole officers, who advised that Mazzo had cut off his electronic monitoring device in Brevard County.

GAMEOVER Task Force agents located Mazzo in a Holly Hill hotel early Friday morning, where he was arrested without incident.  Mazzo is charged with Violation of Probation and Tampering with an Electronic Monitoring Device.  He is currently being held in the Volusia County Jail on a No Bond status as he awaits extradition.

Mazzo, a court designated Sexual Predator was convicted in 2000 on charges of Sexual Battery and Lewd and Lascivious Battery on a minor.
