Bicyclist Killed By Motorist On US 1 In Grant-Valkaria

GRANT-VALKARIA, FLORIDA –David Ovahara, 55 of Sebastian, was killed in a traffic accident at the intersection of US 1 and Valkaria Rd.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, David Ohaver was riding his bicycle southbound on a bike path adjacent to US 1. Kevin Paukner, 57 of Vero Beach was also travelling southbound on US 1.
For an unknown reason,Paukner traveled off the roadway and onto the bike path, then ran over Ohaver.
Paukner didn’t stop after striking Ohaver, then crashed into a ditch at US 1 near 1st street. Troopers are investigating if Paukkner suffered a medical condition during the crash.
