Eight Teacher Winners Selected From Nominations Submitted By Students, Parents, Teachers, Administrators and Community

BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – The Space Coast Science Education Alliance (SCSEA) is pleased to announce the 2014 Exemplary Science Teacher award winners.

The eight teacher winners were selected from nominations submitted by students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community members. Selection was based upon teacher essays, letters of support, and other evidence of exemplary classroom practices.

The 2014 Exemplary Science Teacher award winners are:

• Roger Cohen, West Melbourne Elementary School for Science

• LeeAnne Herold, Enterprise Elementary School

• Loren Kerschensteiner, Central Middle School

• Irene Martine, Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School

• Anna Mika, Endeavour Elementary Magnet School

• Maggie Molledo, Satellite High School

• Shelley Ruiz, Cambridge Elementary Magnet School

• Sara Wyrick, Cocoa High School

These oustanding teachers will be honored at an awards dinner at the Eastern State College of Florida Planetarium onAugust 21, 2014.

According to SCSEA’s website, “The Exemplary Science Teacher Awards program was started in 1999 by the SCSEA and the Brevard Science Advisory Council to recognize outstanding science teachers in Brevard County.”
