JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA — The Jacksonville Jaguars signed former UCF quarterback, Blake Bortles, the number 3 overall pick in last month’s draft, earlier today.

Bortles signed a four-year contract with the Jaguars worth $20.65 million. His contract also included a $13.34 million signing bonus and a fifth-year option.

“It’s definitely special,” Bortles said. “Me and (Jaguars director of public relations) Ryan (Robinson) were walking over here talking about it. This is a day you remember the rest of your life, the day you sign your first contract. It’s definitely something that’s cool.”

“As soon as they called my name (in the draft), I was in. It was (done). But to officially get it done is definitely an awesome feeling.”

Bortles is currently not expected to be Jacksonville’s starting QB. The Jaguars general manager and coach have both said Chad Henne, who threw for 3,241 yards and 13 touchdowns, will continue to be the team’s starter.
