BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – District 22 All-Star play began Saturday in three divisions on the Space Coast.

ROCKLEDGE ADVANCES IN 9-10 DIVISION

Over at the Cocoa Beach fields on Minuteman Causeway, the 9-10 Baseball tournament started with Rockledge Little League (home) winning over Space Coast Little League 17-1 in 3 and 1/2 innings.

Nate Dudley and Stephen Wojcik had home runs for Rockledge and Liam Hastings had a solo homer for Space Coast.

Space Coast will play Mims Little League at 1 p.m. Sunday.

MERRITT ISLAND ADVANCES IN 9-10 DIVISION

In 9-10 action at Jim Hensley Park, Merritt Island (visitor) won 18-0 over Indian River City in 4 innings.

Indian River City will meet Port St. John Little League Sunday at 1 p.m.

MERRITT ISLAND ADVANCES IN 11-12 DIVISION

LITTLE-LEAGUE-ALL-STARS-180-12Also at Jim Hensley Park, the Merritt Island Little League (visitor) 11-12 Baseball team won over Mims by a score of 10-0 in 6 innings.

For Merritt Island, Bobby Pazos had a home run, Ian Farrow and Colton Morrill each hit 3-run homers, and Cody Clark added a pair of round-trippers.

Mims will meet Space Coast Sunday at 1 p.m.

PORT ST. JOHN ADVANCES 9-11 IN DIVISION

LITTLE-LEAGUE-ALL-STARS-180-14The other 11-12 game took place at McClarty Park where Port St. John (home) won over Rockledge 9-5 in 5 and 1/2 innings.

For Rockledge, Aaron Saltsman, A.J. Hall and Richie Chamberland had doubles.  Colton Lucas had a double and Levi Moore hit a home run, while Troy Pollard had both a double and a homer.

Rockledge will meet Indian River City Sunday at 1 p.m.

MIMS ADVANCES IN JUNIORS

The Junior Baseball tournament is taking place at Holder Park, where in the early game Mims (visitor) defeated Merritt Island Senior 14-2 in 5 innings.

INDIAN-RIVER-LITTLE-LEAGUE-180-2Layne Cayton, Braydon Kennedy and Seth Lovell each had two strikeouts from the mound for Mims.  Mark Stutts and Nick Avdellas each struck out two for Merritt Island Senior.

PORT ST. JOHNS ADVANCES IN JUNIORS

Holder Park’s late game saw a close one between Port St. John (visitor) and Indian River City.  Port St. John’s Connor Giles and Bryce Adams each had doubles.

Jesse Rink and Bobby Guthrie each had doubles and Talen Smith has a pair of doubles to lead Indian River City to a 14-12 victory in 7 innings.
