high performance on annual state assessments

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Public Schools is very proud to announce that we have maintained our historic pattern of high performance on the annual state assessments.

The Brevard County Sheriff's Office is pleased to announce an enhanced security initiative with the Brevard Public Schools and our entire Public Safety community.
Brevard Public Schools is very proud to announce that we have maintained our historic pattern of high performance on the annual state assessments.

Brevard Public Schools ranked second in Central Florida, behind Seminole County, 14th in the state, and in the top 20 percent.

Two of our elementary schools showed remarkable improvement, Christa McAuliffe and MILA, raising their school grade from a C to an A, and 10 elementary schools improved their school grade from a B to an A.

Furthermore, 48 elementary and middle schools, or 75 percent, maintained or improved their school grade from 2013 to 2014.

District and school leadership teams will be digging deeply into the data in the coming weeks to develop district and school improvement plans with goals and strategies to address areas identified for further growth.

In 2013, a safety net was implemented by the state that allowed schools to decline by only one letter grade. Some of our schools benefited from that adjustment last year and, therefore, the improvement of their school grade this year is not readily noticeable.

District and school leadership teams will be digging deeply into the data in the coming weeks to develop district and school improvement plans with goals and strategies to address areas identified for further growth.

We are very proud of the tremendous work of our students, teachers, and staff members, and congratulate them on their achievements.
