RAIN POSTPONES GAMES TO SATURDAY

BREVARD COUNTY, PORT ST. JOHN, FLORIDA – The State Tournament for Senior Baseball got underway Friday afternoon at Port St. John Little League’s Canaveral Groves Fields.

The State Tournament for Senior Baseball got underway Friday afternoon at Port St. John Little League’s Canaveral Groves Fields.

• In Pool A, Section 4’s Braden River Little league (from District 26) was the visiting team against Section 5’s Union Park  Little league (from District 24). For Union Park, Kolby Lopez scored on a solo homerun for the game’s first run in the bottom of the 4th inning. Union Park was leading 1-0 in the 4th when rain set in to delay the game until 8 a.m. Saturday morning.

• In Pool B, Section 7’s Greater Largo  Little league (from District 12) were the visitors against Section 8’s Deerfield Park  Little league (from District 10). In the top of the 2nd inning, Greater Largo’s Kyle Koker scored the game’s only run for a 1-0 lead before the rain also delayed this game in the 4th inning until 8 a.m. Saturday morning.

Both of these games will resume Saturday morning at 8 a.m. while the late Friday night games have been rescheduled to 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Saturday’s 9 a.m. and 12 noon games have been moved to 12 noon and 3 p.m., respectively. Saturday’s 3 and 6 p.m. games have been moved to Sunday morning at 9 a.m. and 12 noon with the final rescheduled to 4 p.m. Sunday.
