Little League Update: District 22 All-Star Play Continues

DISTRICT 22 ALL-STAR MATCH-UPS CONTINUE

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – District 22 Little League All-Star match-ups continued on Monday in three divisions on the Space Coast.

At the Cocoa Beach fields on Minuteman Causeway, the 9-10 Baseball tournament determined its Space Coast Pool winner when Merritt Island (home) won over Port St. John 5-1 in 5 1/2 innings.

In 9-10 Baseball action at Jim Hensley Park, Rockledge (home) won 8-5 over Mims in 5 1/2 innings. Rockledge will meet Merritt Island Wednesday night at 6:30 at the Cocoa Beach field for the 9-10 Baseball final to decide who will advance to the Section 3 tournament.

LITTLE-LEAGUE-ALL-STARS-180-12Also at Jim Hensley Park, the Merritt Island  (visitor) 11-12 baseball team won over Space Coast by a score of 33-1 in 4 innings. Merritt Island became the pool winner with this win.

The other 11-12 baseball game took place at McClarty Park where Port St. John (home) won over Indian River City 11-0 in 5 innings.

The win pits Port St. John against Merritt Island at 6:30 Wednesday at Jim Hensley Park for the final in which the winner will advance to the Section 3 tournament.

The Junior Baseball tournament continued at Holder Park, where the Rockledge (visitor) and Merritt Island Seniors went extra innings. Rockledge jumped out to an early lead, but Merritt Island slowly added runs until they tied the game at 4 in the bottom of the 7th.

Rockledge answered with an RBI single and a 2-RBI double in the top of the 8th to win the game 7-4 in 8 full innings. Pool play continues Tuesday with Mims and Indian River City.
