BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Florida Tech Associate Vice President for Athletic Fundraising Matt Kilcullen has stepped down to accept the Director of Athletics position at Mercy College.
He will begin his new role at the NCAA Division II institution located in Dobbs Ferry, New York on July 28.
“Mary Jo and I have really enjoyed our three years here at FIT and thank President (Anthony) Catanese and Dr. (T. Dwayne) McCay for giving us the opportunity of being a part of this terrific university,” Kilcullen said.
“We are going to miss living here, working with Bill Jurgens, Dr. Susan St. Onge, the development staff, coaches and all the supportive people in this wonderful community.”
KILCULLEN JOINED FLORIDA TECH IN AUG 2011
Kilcullen joined the Florida Tech Athletics program in Aug. 2011. He has overseen the university’s Sporting Affair and Chopper Dropper fundraisers for athletic scholarships, the Football Founders Club and the athletic department’s partnerships.
Between the 2014 Sporting Affair and the Founders Club, he has raised over $1 million.
“We were fortunate to have Matt with us as we experienced a significant expansion in our varsity sports program,” Athletics Director Bill Jurgens said.
“He has been a real asset to raising funds to support our various athletic programs. He has helped us show steady growth in all our fundraising, including Sporting Affair and Chopper Dropper through his athletic fundraising leadership.”
Prior to arriving at Florida Tech, Kilcullen was the Assistant Athletic Director at the University of North Florida, where he was heavily involved in significant fundraising campaigns.
He also coached men’s basketball at North Florida, Manhattan College, Western Kentucky University, University of Notre Dame and Siena College.
