BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A pedestrian was struck and killed on I-95 on Saturday night about 9:50 p.m. in Cocoa, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The pedestrian had parked a U-Haul truck in the median of the I-95 northbound lanes and was walking south of the truck.

Ashley Marie Adams of Melbourne, 22, was traveling northbound on I-95 in the left lane when she struck the victim, who was walking eastbound attempting to cross the northbound lanes of I-95.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the pedestrian, who has not yet been identified pending notification of next of kin, moved into the direct path of Adams.

This crash remains under investigation.
