Rockledge Takes Baseball, Softball District 22 Titles

Merritt Island Takes 9-10 Little League District Title

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – District 22 All-Stars continued play in three division as Merritt Island took the 9-10 baseball title, Rockledge captured the 11-12 baseball crown and Rockledge won the 11-12 softball top spot.

LITTLE-LEAGUE-REPORT-435-1In 9-10 Baseball at Cocoa Beach Fields, Merritt Island (visitor) claimed the championship title with a 25-0 win over Rockledge.

Anthony Catagena hit a 2-RBI home run for Merritt Island as they will represent District 22 at the 9-10 Section 3 Tournament, which will be held on Saturday, July 12, at Cocoa.

In 11-12 Softball at McKnight Park, Rockledge (visitor) took the District 22 Champion title with an 18-2 win over Mims.

For Mims, Jenna Tanders had an in-the-park home run while for Rockledge, Cali Madonna and Myanna Robinson hit triples. Myanna was the winning pitcher for Rockledge with 11 strikeouts.

In Junior Baseball at Holder Park, Rockledge defeated Port St. John 6-1 in 7 innings. For Rockledge, Thomas Berry hit a 2-run homer and a an RBI double to account for 3 of Rockledge’s runs.

For Port St. John, Logan Lawhorn was driven in by Tommy Eberhart for Port St. John’s run.

After a break for the 4th of July holiday, Juniors will resume on Sunday, July 6th.
