SHEREEN FIORITO took this photo after pulling over on I-95 northbound from Fiske Boulevard in Rockledge. “It never touched down thankfully, but the rotation was awesome to watch,” said Fiorito.

UPDATE:

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Two funnel clouds have been reported by the National Weather Service.

One was near Fiske Boulevard in Rockledge, pictured above, and the second was seen in in south Brevard County near Indian River County.

REPORT:

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for north Brevard County until 5:15 p.m.

…A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 515 PM EDT FOR NORTHERN BREVARD COUNTY…

SEVERE-WEATHER-435-157AT 453 PM EDT…NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO INDICATE A STORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO. THIS STORM HAS CROSSED I-95 AND HAS SLOWED TO TO AROUND 10 MPH.

OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO HAULOVER CANAL…KENNEDY SPACE CENTER…MERRITT ISLAND WILDLIFE REFUGE…PLAYALINDA BEACH AND KLONDIKE BEACH.

Instructions: SUMMER TORNADOES IN CENTRAL FLORIDA ARE TYPICALLY LESS INTENSE AND SHORTER LIVED THAN THOSE THAT OCCUR DURING OTHER TIMES OF THE YEAR. HOWEVER…THEY CAN STILL POSE A RISK OF CASUALTIES AND PROPERTY DAMAGE.

SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY IN A STURDY BUILDING AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
