Fatal Traffic Accident In Melbourne Kills Palm Bay Woman

Melissa Byrd-D’Amelia of Palm Bay Killed in Crash
MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — A fatal traffic crash occurred on Strawbridge Avenue and US 1 on Monday.
According to Melbourne Police Department, Jesus Arroyo, 22 of Palm Bay was driving a 2012 Chevy with two passengers westbound on Strawbridge Ave approaching US 1.
Keith Kudlica, 40 of Melbourne Beach was driving a 1999 Ford eastbound on Strawbridge Ave approaching US 1; both vehicles entered the intersection at the same time.
According to witnesses, the Chevy was westbound attempting to make a left-hand turn to travel south on US1 when the collision occurred.
As a result of the crash one passenger in the 2012 Chevy, Melissa Byrd-D’Amelia received fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another passenger in the Chevy, Gianna Cunetta, 22 of Palm Bay sustained serious injuries and is listed in critical condition at the hospital.
Both drivers were uninjured. The roadway was temporarily closed and traffic diverted for approximately two hours while officers conducted the crash scene investigation.
