BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Starting tonight the popular Friday Night Locker Room radio broadcasts will be a part of SpaceCoastDaily.com as they live stream the FNLR Thursday Night Prep Football Preview show, featuring SCD’s Matt O’Hern, who has covered college and high school football for 12 years.

1f16d2aO’Hern has a background in sports journalism that dates back to 2002.  He covered Brevard County sports from 2004 through 2009 for Hometown News.

O’Hern’s career also includes two years covering NCAA Division 1 FCS football for Samford University (Alma Mater of FSU Coaches Jimbo Fischer & Bobby Bowden)  in Birmingham, Ala. In 2003, O’Hern  covered college and prep football for the Birmingham Post-Herald.

O’Hern and Ray Kameka will provide football analysis throughout the 2014 season on SpaceCoastDaily.com.

THREE DECADES OF KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE

The broadcasts air locally on WPIO 89.3, WEJF 90.3 FM, and WMEL AM1300.

Over the years, the broadcasts have expanded to two teams. One team is made up of  Orville Susong, Steve Wilson and Anthony Nachreiner. The second team consists of Rick May,  Jerry Durney and Mark May.  The Friday Night Locker Room” is supported by board operators, Scott Dunlap at the WPIO/WEJF studios and Vince Young at WMEL.

Wilson also praised Randy Henry, owner of WPIO/WEJF and John Harper, owner of WMEL for their commitment to airing the Friday Night Locker Room.

Wilson stated,” without the support of our title sponsor, Mike Erdman Nissan/Cadillac, we would not be able to do what we de each and every Friday night.  Mr. Erdman is a big supporter of youth sports and we sincerely appreciate everything he does for us.”

Now in their third decade of providing local sports coverage, the team has aired hundreds of high school football games, high school basketball games, little league baseball and softball games, Brevard County Manatees baseball, high school baseball and softball games, and many other events in and around Brevard County.

The team has broadcast games from as far north as Tallahassee and as far south as Miami.

Both Steve Wilson and Orville Susong said they are thrilled to be teaming up with SpaceCoastDaily.com to reach an even greater audience.
