Cadore spearheaded seven turnovers
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Redshirt sophomore Trai Cadore and junior outside hitter Marilyn Dick have been selected as Florida Tech’s Panther Student-Athletes of the Week following their stellar performances over the weekend.
Cadore spearheaded a defense that forced a single-game program-record seven turnovers in Saturday’s home opening 42-6 onslaught of Ave Maria. His 34-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the third quarter put the Panthers ahead 35-0, and the game ultimately out of reach. Cadore collected seven total tackles, including a team-high five solo, and an interception to go along with the fumble recovery.
Led by Dick, the volleyball team is riding a three-game winning streak following the Eckerd College Classic less than a week ago.
The junior from St. Louis, Missouri recorded a monster double-double, with 27 kills and 17 digs, and also had a team-high 52.2 hitting percentage in the thrilling five-set victory over Chadron State on Friday.
She tallied a total of 60 kills, 34 digs and four service aces over the weekend, pacing the Panthers in kills in three of the four matches.
Cadore and the football team travel to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas to take on #12 Tarleton State in the Lone Star Football Festival this Saturday at 6 p.m. ET.
