“I could not be any more proud of how the girls played and battled,” head coach Chris Saltmarsh said.

“To shoot the program records for single round and 36-holes was outstanding. I have seen them play like this in practice, and it was nice to see it happen in a tournament. Our maturity has helped us get better, and the numbers we put up are contending numbers, which is where we want to be.”

All three Panthers playing as individuals improved on their first round performances. Freshman Halla Ragnarsdottir and sophomore Sarah Thomas both shot rounds of 80. Senior Jara’ Templet finished her tournament with a round of 83.

Seminole State College finished second behind the Panthers with a team score of 611. Rambjoer finished the tournament at even-par, and took home the individual championship by four shots over three players including Polson and Larsson.

“Guro did a great job with two rounds of 72,” Saltmarsh said. “That was her goal coming in, and it put her on top of the leaderboard. To have both the team and individual championships, it was a terrific effort all around.

“We are still learning and getting better which is fun to see,” Saltmarsh said. “We are looking forward to the trip to Michigan next weekend, and what this season has in store.”

The Panthers will hit the road next weekend to Allendale, Michigan for the NCAA Division II National Preview. The two-day tournament will take place at The Meadows Golf Course.
