Atwater Invites Public to Fallen Firefighter Memorial

SERVICE IS FRIDAY, OCT. 3 AT STATE FIRE COLLEGE

OCALA, FLORIDA — Florida’s Chief Financial Officer and State Fire Marshal Jeff Atwater will join the Florida Joint Council of Fire and Emergency Service Organizations to host the annual Florida Fallen Firefighter Memorial Service at the Florida State Fire College in Ocala.

Six firefighters who gave their lives in the line of duty will be remembered, Friday, October 3, 2014, with a prayer breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and a memorial service at 9:45 a.m at the Florida State Fire Colllege at 11655 NW Gainesville Road, Ocala, Fla. 34482.

The six Florida firefighters who will be honored during the memorial ceremony include:

  • Homer “J.R.” Harrell – Orange County Fire Department
  • Kenneth Krulish – St. Johns County Fire Rescue
  • Jeffrey B. Newland – North Port Fire Rescue
  • Stephan C. Rich – Sarasota County Fire Department
  • Iran D. Rivers – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue
  • Roger D. Tome – Kennedy Space Center Fire Rescue
