Eastern Florida Men’s Soccer Captures Regional Play-In Game, 2-0

Eastern Florida’s men’s soccer team took its first postseason step on Thursday defeating Patrick Henry Community College 2-0 in Martinsville, Virginia.

The victory in the NJCAA regional play-in game improved Eastern Florida’s record to 12-2-1, extended its unbeaten streak to 11 games and advanced it to the regional playoffs Saturday and Sunday in Louisburg, North Carolina.

Saturday’s weather forecast calls for a high of 55 degrees with a chance of rain.

Sophomore defender Ivan Magalhaes and freshman striker Cleef Desir scored in the second half for Eastern Florida, which advanced to the 2013 NJCAA national tournament in its inaugural season.

Eastern Florida is ranked sixth by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and seventh by the NJCAA.
