The event, which starts at 6 p.m., is part of Hooters’ monthlong fundraising and awareness campaign that’s calling on guests to #SupportOurHooters locations in the fight against breast cancer.

Long-time breast cancer survivor and local Hooters Girl, Jan-Marie, will host the annual event for the third consecutive year.

Miscellaneous items will be available for sale/ auction, including jewelry, clothing, baked goods, and Hooters paraphilia, in addition to games and raffles taking place.

All money raised will benefit The V Foundation for Cancer Research through the Kelly Jo Dowd Breast Cancer Research Fund.

Hooters established the Kelly Jo Dowd Breast Cancer Research Fund in honor of one of the original Hooters Girls who valiantly battled breast cancer for five years before succumbing on May 24, 2007.

At 20 years old, Jan-Marie was diagnosed with a rare, metastatic form of cancer, and has suffered two recurrences since her initial diagnosis.

She is currently undergoing preventive chemotherapy while working at the Hooters of Merritt Island restaurant.

Next January, Jan-Marie will be married, and the couple will request donations to the Kelly Jo Dowd Breast Cancer Research Fund, in lieu of wedding gifts.

Hooters Girls have raised more than $2 million to support breast cancer research, much of it in Kelly Jo’s name to The V Foundation for Cancer Research, one of the nation’s leading cancer research funding organizations.

These grants honor Kelly Jo and further her mission to educate all women, especially her extended family consisting of some 300,000 current and former Hooters Girls, about the importance of early detection and prevention.
