BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE BEACH, FLORIDA — A woman suffered injuries to her right hand after she was bitten by a small shark off the coast of Melbourne Beach on Sunday.
A
ccording to Brevard County Fire Rescue District Chief Scott Jurgensen, the woman was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center in stable condition after a small shark struck her with a fin and bit her right hand.
The attack occurred off the beach located at the end of Ocean Avenue on Melbourne Beach.
The woman told paramedics the shark measured approximately two to three feet long.
