Eastern Florida Men’s Basketball Improves to 2-0 With 91-54 Victory

DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida’s men’s basketball team got 18 points from sophomore Payton Hulsey and 17 from freshman Djordje Beronja to easily defeat Southeastern Illinois 91-54 on Saturday in the Daytona State Tipoff Classic in Daytona Beach.
The Titans improved to 2-0 and open their home season at 7 p.m. Tuesday against ASA-Miami on the Melbourne Campus. Admission is free.
Saturday’s effort was the second double-figure output for Beronja, who hails from Novi Grad, Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Beronja led the Titans with 21 points in their season-opening 85-48 victory over Clinton Junior College of South Carolina.
Sophomore Demetrius McReynolds added 12 points on Saturday while sophomore Kyle Meyer added 11 along with classmate Damion Smith.
Freshman Terrell Miller was the sixth Titan in double figures with 10 points.
