John F. Breitfeller & Dale Dettmer Are Longtime Leaders In Brevard County Community

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Health First is pleased to announce John F. Breitfeller and Dale Dettmer have been elected to its Board of Trustees and their terms began October 2014.

Breitfeller previously served as Vice President of Business Management and Chief Financial Officer for various aerospace and electronic components of Northrop Grumman Corporation.

He is currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors of Health First’s Viera Hospital, Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center and Health First’s Cape Canaveral Hospital. He is also a member of the Health First Audit Committee.

Engaged with many other community organizations, Breitfeller is currently serving as a member of the Finance Committee of the United Way of Brevard County where he spent six years as its treasurer. He’s a member of Webster University Space Coast Board of Advisors.

Breitfeller has served on the Florida Institute of Technology School of Business Board of Overseers, as well as on the Executive Committee and as Audit Committee Chair for the Space Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Breitfeller earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and his Master of Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology.

Attorney Dettmer is Former Chairman of Health First Foundation Board

Dettmer is a partner in the law firm of Krasny and Dettmer, and specializes in business law, estate planning and real property law. He’s board certified in taxation by the Florida Bar of Legal Specialization and Education and is “AV” rated by Martindale Hubbell, the highest rating for legal ability and ethics.

He is the past chairman and a member of the Board of Directors of Health First Foundation, Inc. Active in the community, Dettmer is also past chairman and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Community Foundation for Brevard, Inc., past chairman and a member of the Board of Trustees of Florida Institute of Technology, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Florida Kidney Centers, Inc.

Dettmer was a founding shareholder and later Chairman of the Board of The Bank Brevard, Inc. when it merged into BankFIRST.

He served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of BankFIRST and a member of the Board of Directors of The Bankshares, Inc., a bank holding company that subsequently merged with and into Seacoast National Bank.

Dettmer earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology and a Juris Doctorate with honors from the University of Florida.

He’s currently a member of the University of Florida Law Review.
