Puzzle Box Academy To Host Family Fun Fest 2014

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Puzzle Box Academy, a private school serving children ages two through second grade impacted by Autism and other developmental delays such as ADD/ADHD, will host Family Fun Fest 2014 on Sat., Dec. 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Puzzel-Box-Family-Day-580-1Located in Merritt Island, Florida, in the former Circuit City building located at 450 East Merritt Island Causeway, Puzzle Box Academy is an $8.5 million project supplying 104 new full time jobs and an additional 131 indirect jobs to Central Brevard County.

The location offers an over-sized occupational therapy room, “green” outdoor playgrounds, classroom libraries, technology (classroom iPad labs), student-friendly kitchen, and large classrooms.

The day will be filled with interactive and fun activities such as bounce houses, obstacle courses, jousting, giant slides, and games.

Food Trucks will provide snow cones, cupcakes, gourmet coffee, tacos, pizza and more. Children will be bouncing, jousting, sliding, climbing, and so much more at this free event!

A variety of Guest Speakers and activities will be available to provide fun for all ages.

The Arm Wrestling Champion from Game of Arms – Travis Bagent – will be challenging children and adults in arm wrestling matches.

D-Von Dudley from the WWE World Tag Champions, The Dudley Boyz will be taking pictures and autographs.

The Parker Brothers will be bringing the “Optimus Prime” Transformers Truck and Sherriff Wayne Ivey and his agency will be doing free fingerprinting.

At 1:30 p.m., U.S. Congressman Bill Posey’s representative Pam Gillespie will be speaking to the community about Autism Awareness and their support for Puzzle Box Academy.

YEAR AROUND SCHOOL, CUSTOM ACADEMIC PLAN

The Academy offers a comprehensive educational and therapeutic program at rates families can afford.

The school is unique from the public school settings, as Puzzle Box offers year-round school at seven hours per day, low student to teacher ratio (5:1), and additional therapies (occupational, speech and language, music, art, behavior, social cognition, daily living practice, and peer buddies). Currently, there is no model like this in Florida.

Puzzle Box Academy believes that all students affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders can reach their fullest potential through an education based in both structure and playful engagement.

Each child’s particular strengths and challenges are constantly assessed to direct the child’s teachers in selecting best practice teaching methodologies for the individual child.

Moreover, Puzzle Box Academy maintains that all students learn with greater ease when their natural interests and affinities are honored throughout the school day.
