BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – Workers lost control of one of the 60-foot steel girders being set for sea wall pilings at Cruse Terminal 1, which then landed on the roof of the adjacent Grills Seafood & Tiki Bar restroom building. The accident happened Sunday about 11 a.m.

Witnesses said there were two people in the restroom at the time of the accident, but no one was injured.

“It sounded like a car hitting the side of the building,” said Maverick Multimedia Editor-In-Chief Jim Palermo, who was on the Grills property when the accident occurred.

Grills patrons were evacuated from the immediate area of the restrooms, and work is underway to remove the girder.

Grills Seafood & Tiki Bar is located at 505 Glen Cheek Drive in Port Canaveral, and just west of the new Cruise Terminal 1, which is set to open next month.
