Tornado Watch Issued For Brevard County Until 8 p.m.

A tornado watch is now in effect for portions of our forecast area, namely from Osceola County and Brevard County Northward into Lake, Orange, Seminole, and Volusia Counties. The tornado watch is in effect until 8:00 p.m. this evening.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — Below is a statement from the National Weather Service in Melbourne, Florida:

tornado-watch-180A tornado watch is now in effect for portions of our forecast area, namely from Osceola County and Brevard County, northward into Lake, Orange, Seminole, and Volusia Counties. The tornado watch is in effect until 8:00 p.m. this evening.

A line of showers and thunderstorms will approach our area from the west and bring with it a slight risk of severe weather through this evening. Strong gusty winds, frequent lightning strikes, and heavy rainfall are possible in any of today’s stronger thunderstorms.

A brief, isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
