BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Florida Athletic Coaches Association 60th  Annual North/South All Star Classic took place Saturday and Melbourne Central Catholic’s Brandon Ziarno was named the MVP, adding to an impressive collection of 2014 postseason accolades.

With the North team down 28-21, Ziarno led the North squad down the field and capped the drive with a 9-yard TD pass to Sam Franklin of Citrus, making the score 28-27 with 34 seconds left on the clock.

After the decision was made to go for 2, and the win by the North, Ziarno hit Christian Phillpot giving the North a dramatic 29-28 victory.

The North was lead by Florida High’s head coach Jarrod Hickman and Julius Harley, and Madison County’s head coach Mike Coe.

The 6-foot-2, 195 pound Ziarno concluded his high school career as the most prolific passer in Brevard County history and was named the FHSAA Class 3A Player of the Year.

Playing in 36 career varsity games, Ziarno completed  517 passes on 800 attempts for 7,360 yards and 90 touchdowns.
