Eastern Florida State Foundation Hosts Golf Tourney

Top Prize of $20,000 Went to the Glover Group, Donated Money Back To the Foundation

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College’s Foundation concluded its inaugural Scholarship Golf Invitational and Rockin’ Ball Drop on Friday with a golf tournament at Suntree Country Club.

More than 140 golfers participated.

• First place in the tournament went to the foursome of Bob Jones, Rob Parrett, Ed Lamb and Doug Helfrich.

• The team of Ken Dawson, Cheryl Dawson, Mike O’Grady and Dennis Brady was second.

• Samir Patel, Drew Kramer, Chris Nillis and Gerry Connell were third.

• Mitchell Drinkwater had the day’s longest drive on the fourth hole.

The tournament was presented by Sunrise Bank.

On Thursday night a drop of numbered golf balls from a Brevard County Sheriff’s Office helicopter took place on EFSC’s Melbourne Campus soccer field and followed a concert by the Pat Travers Band.

The top prize of $20,000 went to the Glover Group, which donated the money back to the foundation. Five other winners received $1,000 each.
