MOTOWN-580-12

Featuring the Four Tops, Supremes, Temptations, Miracles and Marvelettes

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Get ready to groove your way back to the glory days of Motown as the Florida Institute of Technology Alumni Association proudly presents the Four Tops, Supremes, Temptations, Miracles and Marvelettes Salute with Myles Savage’s Last Original Stars in concert.

Doors open at 5:15 p.m., and the concert starts at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6 at Gleason Performing Arts Center on the Florida Tech campus in Melbourne.

Led by Savage, the former lead singer of the Platters, the concert will feature songs such as “My Girl,” “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg” and “Shout,” and highlight those and other hits popularized by bands that defined an era.

TWITCHY, the all-faculty band led by Florida Tech President and CEO Anthony J. Catanese, will open the show.

At the concert, Florida Tech will donate $2,000 to Florida Today’s Reaching Out Holiday Campaign, including $1,000 from the university’s Alumni Association. Additional funds collected at the concert will also go to Reaching Out.

This holiday season, Reaching Out Holiday Campaign will fund the purchase of gifts for 3,000 children in need and 1,300 seniors, most of who are homebound.

“Whether it is through the Scott Center for Autism Treatment, educational outreach into area classrooms or the many public events we gladly organize, from lectures to festivals, Florida Tech has long understood that our impact can, and should, extend well beyond our campus community,” Catanese said.

“That’s why we are so pleased and honored to help the Reaching Out fund bring a bit of holiday joy into the lives of some of the most important members of our community, our children and seniors.”

Proceeds from sales at the concert of TWITCHY CDs will go to the Florida Tech Music Program.
