BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Central Area of Brevard County Parks and Recreation will offer START SMART Junior Sports Developmental Program from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, beginning Jan. 21 at Kiwanis Island Park, 951 Kiwanis Island Park Road, Merritt Island.

The program is for children 3-5 years old who attend with a parent.

Start Smart Program is a parent-child program that helps prepare children to enter the world of organized sports by teaching fundamental motor skills such as throwing, catching, kicking, and batting.

Using age appropriate equipment to conduct fun exercises, children learn basic skills that will help them to succeed and excel once they enter youth sports. Cost is $30 for 6 weeks of instruction. Class size is limited.
