MCC QB Brandon Ziarno Strives For More
By Zach Clark // December 18, 2014
2014 STATS: 49 TD’s and 2 INT’s
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – If you ever get the chance to hear Brandon Ziarno from Melbourne speak you will notice a sense of maturity in the way he talks about his game.
Would you expect anything less from a young man that emulates his game by the NFL greats of today such as Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, and Andrew Luck?
The 6-foot-4, 195-pound quarterback from Melbourne Central Catholic has caught the eye of the local community since he entered high school at Melbourne Central Catholic.
With a 70 percent completion percentage, and a 143.3 QB rating for 2014 isn’t enough to jump off your screen, maybe the 49 TD’s and 2 INT’s will be enough for you to say this kid has the IT factor.
In a recent conversation with Ziarno, he takes pride in his ability to extend plays and make smart decisions.
In a day and age in college football where the spread offense is giving defenses headaches, Ziarno’s game specializes in the ability to extend plays and deliver the deep-ball with pinpoint accuracy which has translated to great success at the next level. Just look at Oregon.
His dream school is a familiar one among Floridians – the Miami Hurricanes – he says that he is still waiting for more offers to roll in but when programs see his highlight reel, that dream may become reality.
Ziarno currently doesn’t have an offer from a Power 5 conference school but it doesn’t phase this young man, he just does what he does best, deliver.
With interest from Valparaiso, Florida Tech and USF to name a few, he is focusing on the details in his game and using this time before signing day on February 4, to play against the best athletes in regional competitions to prove that he belongs among the best.
Though interest from big name schools are few, it doesn’t deter Ziarno, because he loves the game and he lets his play do the talking.
