Traffic Advisory: Toy Run Scheduled For Today

Motorists traveling on State Road 520 and US 1 (Cocoa, Rockledge, Melbourne) on Dec. 7 between 12 noon and 1:30 p.m. are encouraged to research alternate routes of travel due to anticipated traffic delays.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The 2014 ABATE Motorcycle Toy Run will be Sunday, Dec. 7. This annual Brevard County event is estimating 6,000 to 8,000 participants to benefit children in need this Holiday Season.

The Toy Run will be escorted by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit, and will start at noon from the Merritt Square Mall on Merritt Island, and end at the Melbourne Campus of Eastern Florida State College.

The route of travel for the Toy Run will be west on State Road 520 (Merritt Island Causway) to US 1, south on US 1 to Post Road, Post Road to the Eastern Florida State College parking entrance.

Motorists traveling on State Road 520 and US 1 (Cocoa, Rockledge, Melbourne) on Dec. 7 between 12 noon and 1:30 p.m. are encouraged to research alternate routes of travel due to anticipated traffic delays.

Travel route intersections will be blocked during the Toy Run in order to maintain the safety of the participants.
