BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two suspects Tuesday night about 9:30 p.m. after a pursuit that included road, aviation and K9 units.

Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two suspects Tuesday night after a pursuit that included road, aviation and K9 units.

According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Department, Travis R. McNeal, 31, filled a suitcase with approximately $500 in merchandise at the Sears department store at Merrittt Square mall, located at 777 E. Merritt Island Causeway.

Meanwhile, Lamar Jaime Deloach, 37, was waiting for McNeal outside in a vehicle.

After concealing the merchandise, McNeal exited Sears without paying for the items, entered the vehicle with the merchandise and left the scene.

Deputies attempted a traffic stop at Borman Avenue and E. Merritt Island Causeway, at which time McNeal exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Deloach complied with Deputies at the traffic stop and was taken into custody.

With the aid of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office STAR and K9 units, McNeal was located and apprehended.

According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Department, Deloach had a suspended license and multiple out of county warrants from Orange and Putnam counties. McNeal also had an out of county warrant from Seminole County.

McNeal was charged with Larceny Retail Theft, Resisting an officer in recovery of stolen property, Resisting an officer obstruct without violence and Resisting an officer with violence. Deloach was charged with a nonmoving traffic violation, Larceny Retail Theft.

Both suspects were taken to the Brevard a County Jail.
