ABOVE VIDEO: Surfin Santas of Cocoa Beach released a music video featuring dozens of Santa-clad supporters partying to “All About the Beach — Cocoa Beach,” a parody of Meghan Trainor’s hit single, “All About that Bass.”

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – In December 2009, George Trosset and George Jr., along with his wife Britteny, paddled out for a Christmas Eve surf.

The 2014 event Surfin Santa event, which will be held Thursday, Dec. 24 at 8 a.m.on the beach at Minutemen Causeway in front of Coconuts, is expecting up to 500 Santas, along with thousands of spectators and supporters.

Over the last five years the gathering has grown to more than 200 hundred Surfin’ Santas, attracting 200 in 2013.

The 2014 event, which will be held Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 8 a.m.on the beach at Minutemen Causeway in front of Coconuts, is expecting up to 500 Santas, along with thousands of spectators and supporters.

SURFIN-SANTAS-180-12“Surfin’ Santas has evolved into annual gathering of the local surfing “tribes,” sharing the ride of Christmas Magic,” said the organization’s Facebook page.

“It’s the one day a year that all the local tribes share all the waves at a local surf spot.”

The proceeds from the event will be shared between “Grind for Life” and the Cocoa Beach Surf Museum.
