BREVARD COUNTY • BAREFOOT BAY, FLORIDA — The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is on scene in Barefoot Bay investigating what BCSO has said is a suspicious death of an elderly woman, who was discovered at a home on Gladiolus Drive on Thursday night about 11 p.m. (See map below)

The discovery was made when deputies went to the area of Gladiolus Drive in an attempt to contact a person who had not been seen for several days.

Members of the Sheriff’s Homicide and Crime Scene Units are at the scene collecting evidence and conducting interviews.

The decedent is not being identified at this time pending notification of next of kin.

Her body has been removed from the scene and taken to the Brevard County Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy will be conducted.
