BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Daivon Andrew Wilkins, 19, will face charges of grand theft auto, aggravated fleeing/attempting to elude and aggravated assault/battery on a law enforcement officer after ramming a Titusville police car on Sunday afternoon.

The Titusville police responded to 810 Sycamore Street in Titusville on Sunday at 3:24 p.m. upon receiving a report of a reckless vehicle at the Sycamore Apts.

According to the Titusville Police Department, patrol units arrived on scene minutes later and the vehicle, which was reported stolen out of Palm Bay, on January 16.

The vehicle recklessly fled, ramming a marked patrol unit and continued out of the complex.

Patrol units caught up to the vehicle on Elizabeth Avenue and the vehicle lost control and crashed into a tree.

The driver was identified as Wilkins and he was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The investigation is continuing and Wilkins will face numerous charges.
