BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the death of a woman that was discovered deceased in the Barefoot Bay community.

The victim has been identified as 70-year-old Doris Johnston of 736 Gladiolus Drive, Barefoot Bay.

Johnston was discovered after family members from out of state became concerned when they were unable to make contact with her for several days.

Deputies who responded to the call for assistance discovered Johnston at the residence deceased.

The Homicide Unit is in the process of determining the circumstances that led to her death.

CRIMELINE-180-1They are working with the Crime Scene Unit and Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause and manner of death.

BCSO Investigates Suspicious Death In Barefoot Bay

BREVARD COUNTY • BAREFOOT BAY, FLORIDA — The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is on scene in Barefoot Bay investigating what BCSO has said is a suspicious death of an elderly woman, who was discovered at a home on Gladiolus Drive on Thursday night about 11 p.m. (See map below)

The discovery was made when deputies went to the area of Gladiolus Drive in an attempt to contact a person who had not been seen for several days.

Members of the Sheriff’s Homicide and Crime Scene Units are at the scene collecting evidence and conducting interviews.

The decedent is not being identified at this time pending notification of next of kin.

Her body has been removed from the scene and taken to the Brevard County Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy will be conducted.
