BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Tech football announced its schedule for the 2015 season. Needless to say, the Panthers will be making their rounds across the southern portion of the country.

FIT will open its season Sept. 5 by hosting Newberry at Palm Bay High School’s Pirate Stadium.

The Panthers will also host home games against Warner on Sept. 19, West Alabama on Oct. 10, Shorter on Oct. 31 and West Georgia on Nov. 7 for the annual Homecoming Game.

The Panthers will hit the road for the first time on Sept. 12 to take on Division I FCS opponent Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond, Louisiana.

The Gulf South Conference opener will take place on Sept. 26 at North Alabama.

FIT will play additional road contests at Delta State on Oct. 3, Fort Valley State on Oct. 17, Mississippi College on Oct. 24 and Valdosta State on Nov. 14.

The first round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs will take place on Nov. 21.

“We added two Division II games in addition to our GSC schedule, making for a total of nine Division II games,” said head coach Steve Englehart.

“Both of those programs have a rich football tradition and will make for a tough matchup.”

“Having Newberry come for the home opener will be a great start to the season and later in the year we will travel to Georgia to take on a tough Fort Valley State team.”

“We also have Warner, who we played during our inaugural season and they have done nothing but improve since then.”

“Once again we were able to schedule a Division I FCS team this year and one that made the playoffs last year at that.”

“We will travel to Southeastern Louisiana the second week of the season. 2015 is going to be very challenging with adding these four quality non-conference opponents onto the consistently talented GSC teams that we play each year,” said Englehart.

All 11 games on the season are slated to take place on a Saturday.

With the exception of FIT’s Homecoming Game, all home games have been moved to a 7 p.m. ET kickoff.

All dates and times of the schedule are subject to change.
