BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Zonta Club of Melbourne will award their first Zonta/Yellow Dog Cafe Culinary Scholarship in the summer of 2015 to a student at Eastern Florida State College.

“The scholarship is in memory of Austin Wallace Nelson, a local restaurateur and in honor of Nancy and Stuart Borton in tribute to their dedication to the community and support of the Zonta Club of Melbourne, especially with regard to our Chocolate Festival,” said Doris Larson, Vice President of the club.

Yellow Dog Cafe opened in 1998 and offers riverfront dining along U.S. 1 in Malabar, just south of Melbourne and Palm Bay which is in the same location as Ms. Nelson’s famed Indian River Grill.

The amount of the scholarship will be $2,500 which will cover the majority of the cost of obtaining a certificate through the college’s Culinary Operations program.
