BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – It’s official, the celebrity judges for the 30th Annual Chowder Cook-Off with a Twist have been finalized.

Howie Dorough of the popular boys group from the 90s, the Backstreet Boys, has joined five other judges who will decide who has what it takes to be crowned the “Best Chowder” and “Best Twist” on the Space Coast. An Orlando native, Howie will come to Orlando’s closest beaches to judge this banner event.

Dorough will join the events five other judges, including local Greg Pallone from News 13, Port Commissioner Wayne Justice, Mike and Mindy from Lite Rock 99.3, and a professional chef from Sysco.

The event, hosted by the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), will be held on Friday, February 6 in Port Canaveral’s Cruise Terminal 6.

Those planning to attend this exceptional event can purchase tickets in advance and save $10.00 off the regular admission price ($20.00 per person in advance and $30.00 at the door for General Admission, $40 per person in advance and $50 at the door for VIP entry).

VIP entrance will begin at 5 p.m., and includes a free drink and tastings a full hour before general admission, which begins at 6 p.m.

The event is open to the public and the CVB expects over 1,200 people to be in attendance. This is a great opportunity to support the community and have fun while doing it.

Tickets can be purchased online at Cocoabeachchamber.com or and in person at the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce office (400 Fortenberry Road, Merritt Island), the CVB’s Tourist Information Center (8501 Astronaut Blvd., Cape Canaveral), the CVB’s Exploration Tower Kiosk location and ALL restaurants in the Port.

Admission includes sample tastings, hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, silent auction, prize drawings, and live entertainment by the Gypsy Rain Band.

This year’s milestone event, chaired by Rich Hensel of Fishlips Bar & Grill, will feature the area’s best chefs and restaurants competing with one another to determine who has the “Best Chowder” and “Best Twist” on the Space Coast.

The CVB is still accepting competitors, table top vendors, sponsors, and silent auction donations. Space is limited and time is running short to be part of this exciting affair.
