Art will be featured at Vero Beach Museum of Art

Congressman Bill Posey has announced he will be kicking-off the 2015 Congressional Art Competition for high school students in District 8.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Congressman Bill Posey has announced he will be kicking-off the 2015 Congressional Art Competition for high school students in District 8.

US-HOUSE-EMBLEM-180This opportunity will enable students to enter a piece of artwork in “An Artistic Discovery,” the annual competition held in congressional districts across the nation.

Space program themed submissions only will be accepted.

Each participating student and his or her parents and teacher are invited to an awards presentation event starting at 10:00am on April 25, 2015 at the Vero Beach Museum of Art, during this event the winning entry will be announced. All participating students are invited and encouraged to attend.

This event is also part of Vero Beach Museum of Art’s annual Children’s Art Festival day that will feature performances and other activities for attendees.

This year’s winner will have his or her artwork displayed in the Capitol in Washington, D.C., and artwork by the first and second runners up will be put on display in Congressman Posey’s Washington and Florida offices, respectively.

POSEY-EVENT-580Unframed artwork can be entered in the competition and dropped off from April 13-17, 2015 at 3 locations: Brevard Cultural Alliance offices in Government Center in Viera or Rep. Posey’s Vero or Titusville offices.

No late entries or framed artwork will be accepted. Artwork will be on exhibit at the Vero Beach Museum of Art from April 22 to April 26.
