BREVRD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – Kenneth Hallenbeck, an 11-year Brevard County Fire Rescue veteran, was arrested  Wednesday after an incident involving a 48-year old hospice patient at Wuesthoff Medical Center in Rockledge.

According to Rockledge Police Lt. Donna Seyferth, a hospice patient refused to get off a backboard at the hospital and Hallenbeck is suspected of flipping the backboard, which caused the victim to fall on the floor.

According to WFTV.com, Hallenbeck was suspended in 2006 for an incident related to an argument with another firefighter/paramedic, and in 2008 for not completing patient-care reports within 24 hours.

Hallenbeck has been suspended with pay, according to county officials, and faces charges of abuse of the elderly or disabled.
