BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Under a five year Indefinite-Delivery Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract with Lockheed Martin, Craig Technologies will support fabrication of Ground Processing Equipment (GPE), and provide procurement, machining, and services for the Orion space vehicle project.
The Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle is NASA’s first spacecraft designed for long-duration, human-rated deep space exploration.
Orion will transport humans to interplanetary destinations beyond low Earth orbit, such as asteroids, the moon and eventually Mars, and return them safely back to Earth.
Craig Technologies is one of Lockheed Martin’s small business partners in the expansive United States supply chain network.
“This is a very exciting time for small businesses to be engaged with NASA’s mission to deep space,” said Carol Craig, founder and CEO.
“We are pleased that our exceptional past performance with Lockheed Martin and our unique capabilities will be applied to this cutting-edge program.”
There are approximately 3,000 people who work on the Orion program nationwide, including contractors, civil servants, subcontractors, suppliers and small businesses.
Work will be performed at the 161,000 SF Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing Center (ADMC) in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Craig Technologies Recognized As NASA Subcontractor of the Year
Craig Technologies was recognized as the 2013 NASA Shared Services Center Small Business Subcontractor of the Year during an awards ceremony last August in Huntsville, Alabama.
NASA presented the award to Craig Technologies for their outstanding efforts in developing and implementing innovative practices in support of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Small Business program.
“We have a very hard-working team who is passionate about the NASA mission,” said Craig.
“This is a tremendous honor and brings much deserved recognition to our Family in Huntsville.”
Since 2011, Craig Technologies has supported the Enterprise Applications Services Technologies (EAST) contract at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center as a subcontractor to SAIC.
