BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The Rotary Club of Cocoa will host a “Party In The Park” fundraising concert featuring the The Doobie Brothers on Sunday, March 1, at Riverfront Park in Cocoa, to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida’s Cocoa Branch.
Youth development programs offered at the Boys & Girls Clubs are proven to combat these negative influences. Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida transform lives of at-risk youth in the Cocoa area with a new 10,000 square foot Boys & Girls Club on Dixon Boulevard.
The new Club, the third BGCCF location in Brevard County has the capacity to serve over 200 Club members annually, ages 6-18. Currently, BGCCF are unable to serve at maximum capacity due to a lack of funding.
The purpose of the Party in the Park event is to bring the club to full operational status.
‘Party In The Park’ is in its inaugural year, with hopes of creating an annual event. The Rotary Club anticipates close to 4,000 spectators for the event.
Gates will open at 2 p.m., Pidgin will perform at 3 p.m., followed by local rocker band, Vintage.
The Doobie Brothers are expected to be onstage at 6:30 p.m.
