Brevard County is up-sizing drainage culverts under John Rodes Blvd at Lamplighter Village in Melbourne to decrease severe flooding in the area.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Brevard County is up-sizing drainage culverts under John Rodes Boulevard at Lamplighter Village in Melbourne to decrease severe flooding in the area.

BREVARD-180Redirection of these flood waters will also decrease degradation of water quality in the Indian River Lagoon.

The culvert installation requires John Rodes Boulevard to be closed beginning today, Monday, Feb. 9, through Friday, April 24.

The closure is at Lamplighter Drive (the middle Lamplighter entrance), south of Dow Road and north Palladian Way (the Hammock Trace subdivision entrance.)

Traffic control (detour) signs are posted to assist the motoring public.

Although the County and its contractor are working to minimize the length of the road closure, weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances could affect construction schedules.
