BREVARD COUNTY * MELBOUNRE, FLORIDA – Superstar entertainer Jeff Shadley returns to the Space Coast on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m., to present The Great American Songbook at the Scott Center at Holy Trinity.
The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra and Jazz Orchestra join to celebrate the Great American Songbook with selections by George and Ira Gershwin, Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Johnny Mercer, Jimmy Van Heusen, Dean Martin, and Frank Sinatra.
The Great American Songbook is the canon of the most important and most influential American popular songs of the 20th century – principally created for Broadway theatre, musical theatre, and Hollywood musical film in the United States.
Written from the 1920s to the 1950s, recorded and performed by a wide range of musicians, these songs are considered of enduring popularity.
The concert promises to be a swinging one, with Shadley leading the party on a journey through a century of America’s greatest music.
