BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Tech’s Jordan Carlock has been named the SSC Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, announced on Monday by the SSC Office.

This is Carlock’s first time being selected for the honor.

He forced three turnovers and had one ground ball to help the Panthers hold on for the 13-11 season-opening win against Tusculum College on Friday, Feb. 6 at Palm Bay High School’s Pirate Stadium.

Carlock and the defense stunned the Tusculum offense in the beginning of the game, allowing Florida Tech to get out to a 9-0 advantage before the Tusculum comeback started.

In the second half, the defense stopped the Pioneers in their tracks and held onto the lead until the final whistle blew to give the Panthers the two-score victory.

Carlock and the Panthers will travel to Hickory, North Carolina for a game against Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday at 2 p.m.

They will then remain in North Carolina to play Mars Hill on Monday at 4 p.m.
